And if you keep reading, you’ll know whether or not this beautiful piece of electronic equipment is the right hybrid turntable for you. I was able to test this beast thoroughly and really examined it by using a number of its awesome features over and over again. The brand has recently been revived by Innovative Technology, which has blended Victrola's classic vintage design with the best of today's audio technology. This is great for looks, but there were times when I was frustrated by the minimal control scheme, more on that in the setup and performance sections.

There are restrictions on its audio power, so we think it would be best connected to an external sound system. Overall, I’m really having a blast listening to old records (and some new ones) and the wonderful feeling of nostalgia that this delightful turntable brings.

An external sound system would absolutely help to enhance the experience, but for those short on space, the in-built speakers are good enough. The bug bit him hard and he’s been tinkering, building, deconstructing and generally creating gadgetry mayhem ever since. The oak and black design of the model we received for testing manages to make the player look both classic and modern, and we love the way the vinyl disc itself hangs slightly over the edges.

I wish there more controls to enable the pairing or more information displayed on the screen to know the process was working.
