About this deal
Poirot must deploy his ‘little grey cells’ on the most difficult case of his career: one that will force him to question his deepest beliefs. Being set in the 1930s, there was a lot of outdated slang used, but it was mixed in with formal language, which left me unsure of the social backgrounds of the situations. Overall, I enjoyed the book to be a one-time cozy read, but the writing style is a bit off for me and would look for better plot arrangement in future books by the author.
Murder at the Theatre Royale By Ada Moncrieff |The Works
Agatha Christie’s world-famous novel has been adapted for the stage for the first time in Europe by multi award-winning Ken Ludwig, whose previous Tony Award-winning productions include Crazy For You and Lend Me A Tenor. The theatrical company and their mysterious past are a constant source of entertainment, and Daphne, as the protagonist, is both witty in conversation and sharp minded when it comes to solving the crime. I felt bad for Daphne because she wanted to be a journalist but the newspaper office where she worked gave her the role of the agony aunt instead. He also starred in Original Theatre’s lockdown film of Torben Betts’s Apollo 13: The Dark Side of the Moon .There will be three murders to solve in the 2022 Colin McIntyre Classic Thriller Season at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.
Theatre review: All About Murder at Theatre Royal, Nottingham Theatre review: All About Murder at Theatre Royal, Nottingham
On stage, he has performed in the West End, at the National Theatre and in numerous productions for RSC.Based in snowy London, with a few clues for readers who fancy a bit of armchair sleuthing, it centres around journalist Daphne King who feels the need to prove to her boss at the Evening Chronicle, Martin Halliday that she is worth more than her Dear Susan 'Agony Aunt' role. In some ways, All About Murder is similar to another of their works, Anybody for Murder , which Tabs and Rumpus Theatre Company produced in Chesterfield in 2019 as part of a seven-play rep season celebrating 70 years of the Pomegranate Theatre. Things in the theatre were obviously different with tickets being electronic, temperature checks on arrival and audience members given timed entrances which were spaced out around the theatre.
