Reviews

Smiler, very famously, contains more of the same. For me that would not be the problem if the contents were (and had always been) good. But I am not sure about it. I wasn't very excited about Every Picture Tells a Story or the Faces albums, and the same can be said about Smiler as well. "Farewell", "Let Me Be Your Car" and "Mine for Me" are very nice, the two brief instrumentals are all right of course, but I can definitely live without the rest. To be honest, I am quite mixed on this album. I must admit although it is dissapointing, it is not by any means awful and his worst.

He then released his debut album, Every Picture Tells a Story in 1971, alongside the release of the single Maggie May which went to straight to Number 1 in the UK and the US simultaneously. Rod told the Mirror this week that Penny will be on duty as a special constable with the City of London Police for the King’s Coronation concert in May but he will still be in Las Vegas as part of his residency at Caesars Palace. Photo Thanks to COPS Sailor" a raucous horn-propelled Ronnie Wood co-write is up next, before a slightly over-indulgent medley of two of Sam Cooke's best sides follows. Sir Rod Stewart is still very much a part of the current music scene, having performed at Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal Jubilee in 2022, and released new music as recently as 2021. I think I have worn out my royal welcome. I think I will leave it to someone else. I will be in Las Vegas, but my wife will be on duty as a policewoman though.”said RodDonald told SMILER this week “My friend Sherri (she is the one solo in picture below – the Rod-loving birthday girl) is the biggest Rod fan in the world..well, she wanted me to sing a Rod song for her birthday and I can’t sing Rod so I came up with this duet of a Rod song…did it last night [Monday]… here’s youtube video and some pics from the party and she has a Rod room..you’ll see” Sherri’s basement in Canada Friday night was the first date on the next leg of Rod’s ‘Hits’ tour and also the first official date for new band member Joanne Harper who posted this shot of her with Rod and Holly Brewer on her social media Joanne Harper
