About this deal

The product had changed in size altho not weight, & not too sure at this stage whether this is better. Never the less, the 3 different products selected were very good. All this is to make sure the meat air-dries just right. It needs to be in a place with plenty of air circulating, and will take between five-seven days, depending on how you like your biltong. Good things come to those who wait, and all that... I can understand having to cancel if the product on offer was no longer available but to do so without even bothering to inform me is highly disrespectful. So while the product is tasty the company itself takes it's customers for granted and treats them poorly.

The following is one of the best recipes for biltong. It will give you results that are traditional as well as authentic.Super high in protein, healthy, and delicious! It's also so easy to make—cooked and served on the same pan (the easy clean up is just another bonus). Salt: Sea salt is a fantastic flavour enhancer, and it helps preserve the meat too. On top of that, it destroys bacteria outside the meat and allows the drying process. However, make sure you use the right amount of salt. We also like throwing it on top of salads for an extra punch of protein and flavour. Plus, it keeps you full for longer. Biltong can also take a sandwich to the next level. If you want to go traditional (and seriously tasty), try making your own sweet, milk-brushed mosbolletjies bread. We promise it’s not as hard as it sounds...And don’t forget to add some parmesan. Because, parmesan. Look, we love biltong as much as the next person. It’s delicious, filling and don’t even get us started on those unbelievable protein values. But on our quest to make the best tasting biltong we discovered something revolutionary: you cannot make the best tasting biltong without using the highest welfare, best quality meat. Fact.

Brown Sugar: This caramel and molasses flavour adds complexity to the Biltong without masking it. It helps by balancing the saltiness well.Creamy warm soup sounds just about right this time of year, not without putting some Ember spin on it of course. From our webstore we deliver to the UK including the Channel islands, France, Germany, Italy and Hungary.

Biltong may not seem like a likely breakfast addition but after being tried and tested these recipes have the Ember thumbs up. Disgusting food full of mould! Don't buy this product, thank god we spotted this before biting it, I hope we don't get food poisoning from this garbage.

How do you know when the biltong is ready?

Tasty, no-fuss, and super filling - all you need is a handful of ingredients and some Ember biltong, of course. If you’re thinking of investing your time in making your very own biltong, then you need to make sure you make the best tasty biltong that will satisfy you and your family members. Choosing the best meat for your biltong is the first step to achieving the best results in the end and the right means will improve the quality of your biltong as well. Organic grass fed beef is recommended or this and you can get it from a local butcher or local stores. When it comes to cutting, make sure you choose lean pieces without much marbling. Silverside bottom round makes the perfect biltong, sirloin and top round are also good lean cuts for biltong. Drying your biltong Then mix ¾ white vinegar and ¼ sauce into a large container where you can immerse the meat strips. Leave the meat strips in the mixture for about 3 to 4 hours to absorb and begin the curing process. Traditional Biltong is cured in salt and vinegar and coated with crushed coriander seeds and pepper. However, avoid putting too much salt as it can leave a burning sensation. On the other hand, vinegar does a great job of sterilising the cure meat without mountains of salt. On each length of the meat, you should add a hook. You can use paper clips that are covered in plastics since this is very affordable. Then hang the Hilton in a box or in a space that is well ventilated. You can also add a fan to blow the air gently, however, this fan should not be pointed to your meat directly because this can harden the case.

Homemade biltong can take about 15 minutes to prepare and to achieve the best results, in the end, you will need a cut of good beef that is suitable for making biltong. After you've bought the perfect beef for making biltong, you can follow the steps below to prepare your biltong: I recently tried the Steak slices, which I found in Sainsbury's, and these were yummy (I ate the whole bag in 1 go!) :) You can change the details in your account by logging in through this link. What is a subscription? The squeeze test will let you know whether your biltong is ready or not. When you squeeze the biltong, it should be hard but a bit squeezy because of the little moisture inside. Once you use the squeeze taste and confirm that it's hard and a bit squeezy, know that your biltong is ready. Storing your biltong

Beef biltong - traditional South African Food

It's simple maths really: higher welfare + sustainable farming = higher quality meat = better taste (ok it's not actual maths but you get what we mean).
