About this deal

A big ol' bottle of Eagle Rare 10 Year Old bourbon! Holding 1.75cl of the fantastic bourbon produced by Buffalo Trace, this bottle is taller than a small dog. Maybe not a Beagle, but likely taller than most Yorkshire Terriers. Wild Turkey 101 is a higher alcohol version of the base bourbon. The 101 is almost cask strength. Some bourbons of the brand are unaged, which means they’re bottled at a low proof and you can add water to increase the alcohol content. It won’t need too much water to boost it to 50.5°. Sniffing the first round of this you can tell it has an incredibly rich and woody aroma. The scent affirms that caramel, vanilla, fuji apple, cinnamon, and allspice tend to complement each other. Wood from older barrels and peanut-flavored candy also show up. Give it a 10-minutes time and you will start to sense the incredible smell of musty raisins. As per Bourbonr, the distillery uses two main mash bills for their bourbon, simply called #1 and #2, and two specialty mash bills, a wheated and a rye. While popular and coveted brands such as Blanton's use mash bill #2, Eagle Rare shares its mash with brands like E.H. Taylor, Jr. and the flagship and namesake bourbon of the distillery Buffalo Trace.

Eagle Rare 10 is a single barrel bourbon made by the Buffalo Trace distillery and this offering is basically the standard Buffalo Trace but aged for 10 long years. It uses the number 1 Mashbill, believed to consist of 10% or less rye. The original was a 101 proof bourbon that was produced from 1975 to 2005 by Seagram and then The Sazerac Company and was created by Charles Beam. About the DistilleryThe Eagle Rare 10-year-old single barrel bourbon is created by the Buffalo Trace distillery. It’s not an over-hyped bourbon steeped in history and it’s not aggressively marketed. There are some who call Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon one of the crème de la crème of bourbon whiskey. It is not just that it is old and mature, but more importantly, it always delivers and leaves a lasting and full-bodied impression on its drinkers. How Much Is a Bottle of Eagle Rare? Putting politics aside, we routinely eschew the industry’s self-mythologization and lofty rhetoric here at MALT. I’m not willing to buy into internal or external hype, but I am willing to give this a fair hearing. As always, the proof is in the bottle. Let’s ignore the nationalist tropes and assess the whiskey, shall we? Let’s have a go at that ludicrous paragraph. To start, “the birth of a nation” regrettably recalls an early bit of American filmmaking glamorizing the Ku Klux Klan. Is this a dog whistle for the un-reconstructed South, or a bit of lamentably foolish obliviousness? I’d guess the latter, but it’s still an unforced error. As far as American innovations go: I’m willing to rank the airplane, internet, and polio vaccine way, way ahead of bourbon, as much as I may enjoy a drink. Other distilled spirits in the world adhere to standards as strict – or stricter – than those governing bourbon. I could go on, but you get the drift. Don't wait in! We'll drop you a text the day of your expected delivery by 4pm and let you know a 2 hour delivery window For one, as Gear Patrol notes, Eagle Rare has been designed to create a supply-demand market in its favor by only releasing a limited number of its product to distributors at any given time. This is not new or even unique to Eagle Rare, though. There is a whole market for what are called "allocated" bourbons that use the same tactic to boost demand (via Wine Enthusiast).

Wild Turkey 101 Mostly, you will taste sugar with a little bit of woody flavors and alcohol that wraps around them. ‘Chewing’ produces a stronger taste of corn and wheat. While this bourbon has a sweet and simple taste, it still has many subtle flavors which make it complex and enjoyable. The aftertaste’s lining includes vanilla, lemon tea with honey, and some wood spice. It is a very solid option if you’re looking for a bourbon that is not too hard to drink straight. Stagg Jr. John, I have the same whiskeys- ones that people go gaga over that leave me totally cold. As you note, there’s as many tastes and preferences as there are folks in the world. It’s already won me over by the time I get to the finish but it’s fruity again but more like the fruitiness you get from boiled sweets, Jolly ranchers maybe? Or is that just absurd?! A bit of oak and some sweet fudge rounds it off. SummarySave the date for the opening of an innovative new distillery” cried the invite. “Aha!", I thought,… Eagle Rare 10 has been a personal favorite of mine ever since I first started drinking bourbon. It is also almost certainly the coolest looking bottle on the market with that majestic eagle on the front! The ingredients, for one, can change the taste. While 51 percent of a mash must be corn to legally make it a bourbon, the other 49 percent can be any other grain. Buffalo Trace uses two main mash bills for their bourbons. While brands such as Blanton's use a more rye-forward mash bill #2, as per Bourbonr, bottles from Eagle Rare use the lower rye mash bill #1, which allows the natural sweetness of the corn to show through. Once diluted with water, the flavors become more complex: dried fruits are added, apricots in particular. The vanilla aroma remains the same, with the added complexity that comes from mixing different flavors. And on top of that, you can smell nutmeg when combined with the presence of sugar molasses.
