The Amethystine python (or Scrub python for short) is among the largest snakes in the world by both length and weight. Many documented specimens measure 18 feet or more. But some reports state this snake can grow up to 20 feet! An adult snake might also weigh as much as 60-66 lbs. Of course, these are the upper ranges.

Habitat matching. Yellow-bellied water snakes can match their coloration to their surroundings, which helps them blend in even more effectively. For example, snakes living in sandy-bottomed streams may have a more yellowish tint to their belly, while those living in murky, vegetation-filled water bodies may have a darker, more olive-colored belly. It’s almost hard not to find a garter snake in Arkansas. These semi-gregarious snakes are habitat generalists that live wherever food is plentiful. Scientific Name: They live in a wide variety of habitats, but heavily prefer moist meadows. They can also be found near water like many other species of garter snake. Xenodontinae is a subfamily of snakes within the family Colubridae that includes mud snakes and New World hognose snakes. While yellow-bellied water snake bites are generally not dangerous, some people may have an allergic reaction to their venom.
