About this deal

Morality Pet: Casper is implied to be this to Count Vega, as the former was adopted by the latter after being orphaned (although Vega may have been behind this). Turns out Casper is Vega's son.

Lucas is stabbed in the chest by Gretchen using Milo's antler. Considering what he did to both, it's a fitting end.One night, all hell breaks loose. Drew’s father and brother are conveniently out of town as his mother is telling him that he is indeed very different, because… KABAM! A monstrous creature storms in. Drew is feeling a bit weak after staring at the full moon, so he is powerless—guilt is perfect for future force-fed character development!—to stop the monster from brutally ripping his mom’s throat out. Not before she yells some ridiculously obvious things for foreshadowing purposes, though. Suddenly, Drew changes into a monster too—too much moonlight is very bad for your health!—and fights the other monster. The Reveal: Baba Korga is introduced in Book 2, but Trent finds out in Book 3 that she died months ago; the current one is an impostor. Book 4 reveals is no other than the Serpent Vala. he does that I don’t really like is the jumping between characters. I like that in this book you’ll Drew finds himself in the Malestrom and Captain Cane reveals himself as Count Vega, Prince of the Cluster Isles. He had betrayed Wergar to Leopold when Leopold seemed the "better option" during his takeover, but had been exiled by the new king for this dishonest nature.

This is the third installment of the engrossing and exciting Wereworld series by British author Curtis Jobling. He can't write these books fast enough for me! No sooner have I finished one then I'm eager for the next to find out what's going to happen next to all the characters. Something major nearly always happens at the end of each book as well which leaves me biting my nails and unable to sleep until I know the next publication date. Hook Hand: Drew has his hand replaced with a trident blade after losing it. After the blade is rendered useless, he temporarily replaces it with a shield, before leaving the stump bare. In book six it is replaced with the White Fist of Icegarden. Anyone Can Die: Book 1 isn't too bad, but Book 2 starts thinning the herd significantly, and thinning it fast. Last of His Kind: Drew is the last Grey Werewolf. After Queen Amelie's death Mikotaj and Miloqi become the last White Werewolves.Another thing I have to mention about the book before I started reading it, is the beautiful illustrations throughout that are not only eye-catching, detailed and generally gorgeous but really added another dimension to the the story. The chapter heading were visually arresting drawing you into the story even before the words had a chance to. Count Vega, a Sharklord, the Pirate Prince. To start with, I felt Vega was heartless, that he killed too easily. But soon after, I started swaying, changed by his snarky humour and the care he showed towards his crew and the Weres on it. And, before long, I had decided that I loved him. Ok, so he’s a pirate – a Were pirate at that. But he has a good heart. He was really rather sweet, in a piratey way. He soon turned into an unlikely favourite of mine, one I was always happy to see. Reptiles Are Abhorrent: Vala the Serpent and Lord Ignus the werelizard are both reptilian werelords and pretty abhorrent on different ways. The characters are enchanting. Some you love, some you are weary of, some you admire. By the end of the story, I remembered each of their names(which is an accomplishment for me), and am actually invested in their futures. this is not a short story, and we have plenty of time to get to know them intimately. Angry, Angry Hippos: General Gorgo is a werehippo and a brutal enforcer of the Catlords with a fittingly short temper.

Once again, some of them get killed when you are least expecting it, and it was just... heartbreaking. Jobling made characters so well, even the side ones, so you can't help but feel...at least something when they die. Those Two Guys: Count Costa the Werevulture is usually seen with General Gorgo the Werehippo, until circumstances force them to fight away from each other. Over the next days, Drew grows closer to Hector and his brother, Vincent. When it was time for him to leave however, Captain Brutus and the Lionguard arrive unexpectantly, due to Vincent's giving away their location. When Baron Huth tried to resist them, he was tragically killed. Drew had no choice but to take Gretchen hostage and escapes through the Redwine river with Hector. I wasn’t sure I would like this Young Adult fantasy novel. It seemed like a thorough boys book and I went into it with much (girlish) trepidation . . . but by the end of the third chapter, I was hooked.

Decadent Court: What we see of Leopold's allies in court seems to fit the bill. Their actions at a banquet in the first book are not described charitably. To be honest, I bought this book on a whim; I thought it was going to be some typical Middle Grade Fantasy series that I've read a bajillion times before--nothing too special.

Barbarian Tribe: The Ugri, who dwell the Northernmost part of Lyssia. Although unlike the Wyldermen, they aren't cannibalistic. In a kingdom torn apart by tyranny, one boy must take control of the powerful lycanthropy surging within him and lead a nation. But in a world filled with enemy were-creatures, does he have what it takes to become a hero?

Fingore: Drew loses the little finger on his left hand to Vanmorten in Book 1. Trent accidentally cuts off his left hand's little and ring fingers in Book 4.
