About this deal

It was the fourth world of the Cadian System, and its surface contained a wide variety of terrain types and ecosystems, including frozen tundras, temperate plains, wind-swept moors and the great native axel-tree forests. A: Unlike most armies, the Imperial Guard have multiple kits for the same unit. This is because different regiments have different uniforms. You’ll see some in the photos in this article. They all work mostly the same in-game, so this is largely an aesthetic choice on the part of the player (competitive gamers are screaming at me right now, since the different regimental doctrines do genuinely make a difference, but big picture: they’re still cheap infantry who die a lot). Because of the way the regimental doctrines rules work, most people will build their whole army (or at least whole detachments) to look like it’s all from the same regiment. Cadian and Catachan soldiers are available in plastic, which makes them the default choices. The only other regiment currently available from GW are the Steel Legion, and even then, only the basic troops are available – and in metal, no less. Old school. This boxed set contains x527 plastic components that make 27 Astra Militarum models and comes with 25 Citadel Round Bases:

Yet among the few survivors of Cadia was a handful of Imperial heroes who had successfully escaped the destruction of the Fortress World with the aid of the newborn Aeldari faction known as the Ynnari. The combined forces fled through a Webway gate found on the ice moon of Klaisus in the Cadian System. Kaerls - The Kaerls of Fenris fought alongside their feral overlords, the Space Wolves Space Marine Chapter, during the First Battle of The Fang against the Daemon Primarch Magnus the Red and his Thousand Sons Traitor Legion in the 32nd Millennium. Bury your foes in a relentless tide of claws with the Onslaught Swarm, one of the most terrifying assemblages of Tyranid monstrosities ever stuffed into a box. A massive Norn Emissary joins up with a Winged Hive Tyrant – which can also be built as a ground bound Hive Tyrant or Swarmlord – to lead a tide of 20 leaping, scything Hormagaunts and 10 ravening Genestealers, with a pair of Ripper Swarms to boot. The Cadian Defence Force box epitomizes the might of the Astra Militarum, the vast military arm of the Imperium in Warhammer 40,000. This box set represents the unyielding strength of the Emperor’s forces, showcasing the disciplined and relentless nature of these soldiers who stand as the first line of defense against the myriad threats facing the Imperium. The latest addition to the roster of 40k armies, the World Eaters also get a Battleforce for the holiday season! Following the trend of the big boxes containing the Daemon Primarchs, this time it’s Angron who’s leading his Berzerkers and Eightbound into the fray. This book dramatically expands what you can do with some extra rules for making your own regiments, using tank aces, and adding loads more depth to your elite option for core troops: the Tempestus Scions. For more info, see our rules breakdown on the Guard stuff from this book here. Note that everything here will likely be rendered obsolete when the 9th edition of the main Codex comes out. Some amongst the Cult Mechanicus believed the spires to be the work of the Necrons, or their mortal antecedents the Necrontyr, but then there were those on Mars equally convinced that the pylons were constructed by the Old Ones for the sole purpose of destroying the Necrons and their former C'tan overlords. The Astra Militarum got a box true to the phrase “Cadia stands!”, as the Cadian Defence Force brings some serious firepower alongside the heroes of the Imperium. The box contains two squads of foot soldiers, two tanks and a command squad to guide them through the storm of battle. That alone would be worth a letter to Santa, but how much can you save on the Defence Force?

Although Cadia was ultimately reduced to a burning wasteland by Abaddon's assault, the worlds in the wider Cadian System fought hard to destroy the spearhead the Despoiler had plunged into their midst. The Great Exodus of Cadia had seen swathes of the Imperial defence redeployed to the sister worlds. [11] Together, these Imperials -- the so-called Celestinian Crusade -- would forge an uneasy alliance with the enigmatic xenos that would offer a new hope for the servants of the Emperor in their fight against the waxing power of the Archenemy -- the resurrection of the Primarch Roboute Guilliman. The PDF, as essentially the local military of an Imperial world, has no standardisation and can take any form; some, such as the PDF of Hive Worlds, may be no more than legitimised gangs supported and armed by the local planetary government to keep down the more anarchic elements. When facing any internal or external threat, it is the responsibility of the PDF to engage the enemy until Imperial reinforcements such as the Astra Militarum or Space Marines can be mustered by the nearby Sector Command. Thus Cadia had an odd mix of dense urban areas and vast open tundras and other natural landscapes unspoiled by the hand of Humanity. Armageddon Defense Force - The PDF of Armageddon participated in the defence of that Hive World during the multiple campaigns fought against the Forces of Chaos ( First War for Armageddon) as well as Ork forces ( Second War for Armageddon and Third War for Armageddon).

Tyranids Onslaught Swarm

You ready to fight the galaxy, private? Hell if I care. Cork your sniffling and get down that ramp lest you find out what happens when Commissar Horst gets upset. He’s an emotional man. Very sensitive about cowardice. Starts quoting the Imperial Infantryman’s Uplifting Primer at you.”

A defiant force of key Astra Militarum units, including Cadian infantry and the armoured might of two Rogal Dorn tanks The storm raged for solar minutes that seemed eternities, and then fell away into hurricane winds. They blew over a world forever altered. The continent of Cadia Tertius was gone, obliterated by fire and drowned beneath howling seas. The Krian Fault, bane of the continent of Cadia Tertius since the Age of Strife, had ruptured one last, fateful time, and the planetary crust split apart. The decision was made to hold orbit over Cadia and for the 1301st Fleet's elements to make planetfall on the unknown world, designated as 1301-12. The landing force was comprised of Imperial Army, Word Bearers, Adeptus Custodes and Legiones Cybernetica elements. The landing party, led by Lorgar, was greeted by a large number of barbaric human tribes, tribes described as "dressed in rags and wielding spears tipped by flint blades...yet they showed little fear." Most notable were the barbarians' purple eyes, which reflected the colour of the Eye of Terror itself in the spectrum of visible light. Despite the Custodian Vendatha's protests and request to execute the heathens, the Word Bearers approached the natives. They will do so, again and again, continuing to fight until the day every Traitor in thrall to the Dark Gods is defeated at last and their world avenged a thousand times over. Cadia stands upon the only known reliable route out of the Eye of Terror and thus is one of the most strategically vital worlds in the entire Imperium of Man. There are other routes out of the Eye, but none are stable like the Cadian Gate and no military force of any true size can venture forth from the Eye without first passing through it. The exact reasons for the existence of this unusual region of stability is unknown, though many Magi of the Adeptus Mechanicus believe it is due to the presence of the famous Cadian Pylons. Though their home planet was utterly sundered, the resolve of the Cadians has not been broken. Veteran survivors of the last battle for Cadia, along with regiments of their kin scattered throughout the galaxy, now fight even more doggedly against the Imperium's enemies.

Within the Eye of Terror, the Chaos Gods rule over uncounted numbers of planets, all warped to reflect their own dark aspects. It was there that the Traitor Legions found refuge, isolated from the rest of the galaxy by potent Warp Storms. Each of the planets within the Eye is a Daemon World, warped and twisted by the whims of the Ruinous Powers and the powerful Daemon Princes who rule over them in the Dark Gods' name. While one of the main factions of 40k’s 10 th Edition are the Space Marines, they couldn’t be the heroes of the story without the Tyranids, specifically Hive Fleet Leviathan. The Hive Mind sent some reinforcements so that the Tyranids can stay on the offensive after winning the Battle for Oghram with a new Battleforce – including the new Big Boi™ of the Nids.

As one of the most strategically important planets in the Imperium, Cadia boasted a large military presence. Battlefleet Cadia provided orbital protection for the planet and could call upon the assistance of neighboring sector fleets such as Battlefleet Agripinaa, Battlefleet Corona and Battlefleet Scarus. [1a] The planet's surface was dotted with numerous orbital defense batteries, its skies were patrolled by flights of Imperial Aircraft, and any incoming civilian craft that failed to transmit the daily access codes were liable to be shot down without question. [2] Cadia was known to have at least three major landmasses, the continents of Cadia Primus, Cadia Secundus and Cadia Tertius. As noted, these continents possessed a wide variety of biomes and ecosystems, stretching from arctic tundra in the far north to boreal forests of the coniferous, pine-like axel-trees and temperate plains in the milder latitudes.
