As standard these wheelbases are 5Nm and it seems that most people in my community just upgraded straight to the 8Nm as soon as they could. However, after a little time I was used to this, and it didn’t take too much away from my overall experience. The shifters here are actually a single, solid unit, an aluminum bar anodized in orange, because everything McLaren-related should be orange. They can be used as a replacement for analog pedals or for a few other purposes, depending on the software mode selected. His passion lies in sim racing, and in particular in the plethora of sim racing hardware from racing wheels to pedals and more.

The adapter is also removable and can be replaced with the QR1 Wheel-Side (ClubSport Quick Release Adapter), unlocking High Torque Mode on Podium wheelbases. We’ve used Fanalab software to configure the settings and you can watch videos about how to do that HERE.In terms of flex while driving, there is a bit of flex however its about the same amount of flex we’ve come to expect from most Fanatec wheels at the moment and it’s not something that I notice when I’m driving unless I’m paying specific attend to it. The previous McLaren GT3 wheel used an old quick release where you needed a tool to secure and detach the quick release. So all in all, a nice and easy software experience despite the apparent need for two pieces of software.

It took me about 5 minutes and works perfectly now, no need for an rma and it doesn’t mess with the guarantee. The overall shape, as well as the size of the switches, paddles, and dial are based on original McLaren CAD data. The difference there is that it doesn’t actually know what position it’s in at all times so in a lot of Sim titles that aren’t compatible with multi-position switches what happens is it loses track of where it is and then it doesn’t understand the input anymore, or what you’re seeing on the wheel doesn’t correspond with the correct setting inside the game.
