I used the same mounts on my other cases (smaller Pelicans) and they seem to be pretty good - no movement once they are mounted and very easy to remove. I use Pelican cases, but I use larger cases and put my rack inside them when traveling, surrounded by high density foam.

Lots of the ones that do have these (such as the Stanley ones) are aimed at use on construction sites, so they have big carry handles and are built to withstand being dropped from a considerable height, reducing the usable volume. I've done several cases out of different brands of waterproof cases, Underwater Kinetics is by far the lightest, SKB make a nice one and Explorer cases are really nice for a 12U. I ended up drilling to mount the rails, but it seems like you could avoid that by using the lid bezel kit Pelican sells for Storm cases and fastening the rails to the panel frame with some angle brackets.

You didn't specify in your original post, but if you weren't already planning on using organizers with removable bins, I highly suggest them over the "removable divider" type storage containers. I'm thinking of cutting up some internal ply / MDF dividers and foam covering them, but that's another issue.

I thought I'd revive this thread in case anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative to Pelican hard cases. As for the quality, I have a couple smaller Pelican cases (I think they are Pelican - I bought them used) and sure these are not quite as thick but I think they'll do me just fine. I am looking for feedback from someone who has had these on their bike and can tell me how they have held up.
