About this deal

I've had mine fir nearly 5 years and it's working as well as the day I bought it so I wouldn't worry too much. Let preheater tube get a bit hot, before inverting canister, else it might flare (i ain't had it thou).

MSR Dragonfly, very powerful & loud, use with a damping cap very quiet and very controllable. liquid fuel only, mines as good as the day it was bought 20 odd years ago. Conversely, have you ever used anything like what I'm suggesting to have a clear knowledge of the differences? Also, how often do you go, are you out every single weekend every week, do you also fish during the week, or do you just go once in a while? Cooking the occasional pot noodle and a cuppa every once and a while, anything would seem good. Most of the hardcore anglers love sharing pics of their Coleman stoves throughout the winter months. It’s almost proof that you’re hard enough to be fishing through the harshest conditions! With what I'm suggesting you don't have to get rid of empty gas canisters, you just fill up with whatever you use in your jam jar and you're golden. Red hot and boils stuff in minutes instead of eons. My Optimus is well quiet with the PawDog and the MSR is sensible out of the box, but hey, if you want to arse about with pony gear, you go right ahead and fill ya boots. Go mental. The side-tables take a bit of fixing into place with wing-nuts and we wouldn’t trust them with anything very heavy – certainly not a large saucepan of food. Found that switching to gas such as the Coleman extreme in the colder months helps. Never had an issue with my gas stoves even on the coldest of days. Ive had the same stove for somewhere in the region of 25 years, its had literally zero maintenance in that time and still works fine, the piezo electric lighter disappeared about 10 years ago in some forgotten incident but thats user error really. Wouldnt hesitate to buy another and quite surprised that the price is still within my limit. One of my better buys over the years.

as the colder months will be upon us soon I am looking to invest in a mini outdoor stove and kettle. Heard the Carplife one is pretty good any guidance would be much appreciated. and apart from the piezo igniter being a bit temperamental now its been totally faultless in all those years you truly do get what you pay for with top quality Primus stoves The fabric shelf needs to be fitted as it adds stability to the legs. There’s still quite a bit of wobble, though. Be careful using WD 40, it can destroy silicone or rubber seals. I've seen it happen in front of my own eyes when I was doing some maintance work which involved seals and they just expanded and deformed the moment WD 40 got on them. as they have a pre heater pipe over the burner head you simply light the stove and then turn the gas can upside down and the stove will vaporise the liquid fuel into gas as its heated and run like its a summers day "Example but cant remember the figures now , looking to buy a Fox R series bivvy , thought id wait for the sale to get a good discount , turns out it was marginally more expensive with discount . I use the Coleman for boiling water and the Bulin for when I’m trying to cook something in the RM without incinerating it I've got the extension with a new regulator which removes easily but what are the joints called and where can I get them in the UK? Now Ive fished through the winter over the past 25 years and never had a gas stove do this to me, let alone twice.... I have a couple of the Heat exchanger kettles and think the best size is the smallest one the (0.7l) this makes 2 mugs I dont see any point in wasting gas boiling too much water I have the bigger one but no point in taking it

sunshine I probably used an Optimus 8R Camping Stove before you were born as you sound like a soppy kid ? with your pathetic insultsIt works well year round, is fairly easy to strip and clean but my one gets through gas in no time and is pretty unstable, mine likes to fold itself up if I'm not very careful. I wouldn't recommend it for that reason Search the carp fishing groups for the best fishing stove and you will see endless replies about the Bulin T4. Anyone who fishes in the depths of winter should make sure the gas stove they use has a pre heater pipe Am I missing out by using a Colman or Trangia with a little ngt kettle. As opposed to the recommended bulin etc. I have not paid them much attention. just sold it straight away these type of stoves are meant for people travelling that may be in a place where buying a tin of gas is not possible
