An all-around pull-string lacing system uses a series of hoops and high-frequency reinforcements, assuring a bespoke and solid fit for more challenging approaches, the Hyper GTX's performance on all levels of terrain will have you feeling confident and assured.

The uppers are made using a mixture of suede leather and tough PU. Suede is used throughout the majority of the upper with PU and rubber placed in high-wear areas to deal with abrasion. Underneath this, a Gore-Tex membrane provides total waterproof protection for those soggy outings. You'll notice the top three lacing loops of the shoe are connected to pieces of green lace that stretch down to the sole — this effectively pulls the sides of the shoe inwards when tensioning the laces, providing a more secure, snug fit. Two loops on the rear of the shoe allow you to attach them to a carabiner when climbing or to dry if they get soaked.You should now be able to see approximately 2 cm (about an index fingers width) of the footbed poking out in front of your toes. The La Sportiva Hyper GTX Men's approach shoe is made from leather and features a waterproof Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort lining designed for use in moderate and warmer conditions, or for higher activity levels. However, even after the most rigorous assessment and testing, there is no better way to be absolutely sure than to have the boots on your feet for an extended period of time. We therefore offer our Home Trial Period which gives you the opportunity to wear the boots around your house to give you an indication of how they feel before you venture outside. We recommend that during the Home Trial Period that you wear the boots for as long as possible and at different times of the day, wear them up and down stairs, when moving around and when resting, you can even sleep in them if you want. This test will tell you if the shape of the internal heel cup matches your heel to ensure it holds you securely, especially when ascending steep ground. Taking inspiration from climbing shoe technology, the Hyper GTX features an all-round lacing system that fully wraps around the foot, providing a very snug fit. Other features taken from climbing shoe designs include a smooth area on the sole at the toe to create a climbing zone and a protective rubber toe cap.
