This debrief can also serve as an opportunity to discuss your birth experience if you have suffered birth trauma, this can be done after the birth or before the subsequent birth if you feel it is necessary.High rates of obstetric intervention in some birth settings may mean that women require improved emotional care from health professionals to reduce the risk of childbirth being experienced as traumatic.
