Honestly, I wanted a replay of the double album debut, which I am still discovering tracks I like on now, and when I first listened to Sound of Silver I was a bit disappointed. ANOTHER great thing about LCD Soundsystem is that James Murphy and the gang make the tracks on this album -- and even more so if you catch them live -- their own. Heaped with a semi-optimistic splurge of retro synth squiggles and world-weary songwriting, this album slowly and infectiously became the soundtrack to a disappointing decade, built on intricate and simple motifs that bear the longevity - and endurance - of the music and the feelings within. A dance-rock record from a former punk agnostic, this hybrid of 1970s art-rock and more traditional dance elements. People can get more than a bit up themselves analysing the influences, often at the expense of the music.

On October 27, 2022, the song New York, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down, was the final song played on WNYL Alt 92. All the jagged frays have been removed, replaced by a slightly tidier approach that is more direct and packs more punch.I'm not sure if you rapidly skim the same articles as I do, but apparently 72% of the internet is now made up of free mp3s, while another 14% is accompanying blurbs. In that respect, Sound of Silver isn't far removed from LCD Soundsystem's eponymous 2005 debut, which ultimately tried to do the same thing but fell slightly short.

As with most great songs, its best lines buzz around the edges of the story: "The worst is all the lovely weather/ I'm stunned it's not raining/ The coffee isn't even bitter/ Because, what's the difference.Sound of Silver was produced by the DFA and recorded during 2006 at Long View Farm in North Brookfield, Massachusetts and DFA Studios in New York, New York. Robert Christgau, writing in MSN Music, remarked that the album contained "one song so irresistible it makes you think the other tracks are songs too, which sometimes they are," [29] later assigning it a two-star honorable mention rating. In 2012, Rolling Stone ranked the album at number 395 on its list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. This is much maturer than the arch tone lcd soundsystem showed on their debut - genuine emotion shines through on tracks like someone great and all my friends.
