Minehead u9 vs watchet u9

Minehead hosted watchet on a very hot sunny midweek league game at the Rec. With Minehead kicking off it was the blues that went on the attack with a great low cross in the box from Dylan, Owen was there to finish from close range with his first league goal for Minehead.

Watchet picked themselves up and had a few chances with Jake pulling off a fantastic save to push the ball on to the bar. With George working hard up front putting in some great balls minehead found a second goal from Hayden. Watchet continued knocking on the door but Erin and Dylan where defending well and on the cuff of half time Minehead made it 3 with a great counter attack that saw Jake aka snake bang his first league goal for Minehead on his u9s doubt.

Second half saw a much better profomance from the blues with lots of attacking play and some brilliant cross field balls Lucy was putting in some great little tackles and got the ball down the middle which saw Bryn take a shot that the keeper just couldn’t keep hold of and Isaac slotted the ball home to make it 4.

Watchet did not give up and were rewarded with a goal when their player went one on one with Jake who was unlikely not to keep it out.

Second game of the evening saw Minehead field a whole new team and they started really well with Emily saving a long range shot that looked to be going in. The game was end to end with Will looking sharp up front with the support of Jake.W bossing the middle of the park for minehead. Harry played in a great ball but Jake was unlucky not to score from a header. Watchet got a free kick from the left side that saw a really good ball in to find a watchet head to make it 0-1 to Watchet.

With the half coming to a close Jake.W tore through the watchet midfield to go one on one with the keeper but was unable to get the ball round him. With minehead trailing at half time Dylan and Hayden come on and right from the K.O Dylan smashed a shot through the Watchet keepers hands to make it 1-1. With the blues now playing down hill they started to pass the ball more freely and with a perfect cross from George,  Hayden headed the ball home to see Minehead go in front. Watchet started to press hard and was court out with a long ball that saw Dylan get his second of the game with a hard drive in to the side of the net.

Watchet pulled a goal back and was really unlucky not to make it 3-3 with there player dragging his shot wide great win for the blues
