Minehead Under 10s played four games against Tone on Saturday 23rd March.
The first game saw Minehead having to defend early on in the game, with Emily Davenport making a good save and William Sealby and Riley Wild keeping the Tone attack at bay. Minehead grew into the game with good play by Riley and Tyler Hetherington down the right, creating a chance for Kyle Oulds, before again a good cross lead to a chance for Isaac Searle, but it remained 0-0 at half time. The second half saw Tone score an early goal on the break before scoring a second again on the break. Tone continued to impress in the second half with Emily making several good saves, before Tone managed to score another goal. Minehead managed to get one goal back with a good interplay between Tyler and Dylan Newby, before the latter beat the keeper. A further chance fell to Riley Wild with his shot well saved.
The second games again started with Minehead having to defend, with Erin Strong stopping a Tone break and Bryn Graddon putting in several strong tackles. George Hall then showed great pace on the break to beat the Tone defence, before seeing his shot hit the post, before a further chance fell to Owen Hardick. Minehead were then caught out by 2 long range strikes from Tone before their first corner brought a further goal. Minehead managed to pull one goal back before half-time with Owen Hardick finishing off the attack. Playing down the slope in the second half Tone took full advantage and despite Jack Kelly’s efforts in goal Tone managed to score several unanswered goals, before the final whistle went.
The third game of the day saw Tone create early pressure, needing Jack to pull off a great double save, before Minehead broke and Dylan was unlucky not to score, hitting the crossbar. Minehead forced 2 further corners, but from one of these Tone caught Minehead on the break to score the first goal. George Hall had a shot well saved but Minehead were not able to get the equaliser before half time. In the second half Minehead continued to look to level, with chances falling to George Littlefield and Bryn Graddon, before George Hall had one shot well saved and another just going wide, but were unable to beat the Tone goalkeeper.
The final game saw early good defence from Riley Wild and tackling from Lucy Davenport, before Tone scored 2 goals in quick succession, the second a great shot into the top corner from their striker. Minehead required their midfield of Isaac, Harry Hauxwell and Lucy to battle hard to keep the score the same through to half time. Playing up the slope in the second half they created a chance for Bryn, whose shot was saved before a further chance was put just wide. The last goal of the morning fell to Tone as they caught Minehead on the break for the final time
