Minehead U10s Bridgewater VPR

Minehead U10s football teams played four matches against Bridgewater VPR on Saturday.

Minehead started the morning slowly and even a great double save from Will couldn't prevent VPR scoring a couple of early goals sending them on to a first game win 5-0.

The second game needed Emily to make some fine saves to deny VPR before the Minehead forwards began to create chances with Haiden firing wide before creating a chance for Owen to score. In the second half the play swung from end to end with 2 further opportunities falling to George, but VPR scored to level the game with only 3 minutes remaining. But with only seconds remaining Minehead won a penalty that George converted to give Minehead a 2-1 win in a very even game.

The third game saw Minehead relying on Riley, Lucy and Will to keep VPR at bay in the first half with Minehead's best chance coming when George hit the post. After half time Minehead grew into the match with chances falling to George and Isaac but in a tight game VPR managed to score the only goal of the game with only a few minutes to go.

The final game saw Minehead score three early goals through Owen, Bryn and George leading to a strong first half. This continued into the start of the second half with a second goal for Bryn and a VPR own goal, but VPR did not give up and manage to pull back 2 goals before full time. Minehead players of the morning were Owen and Riley.
