Wednesday night saw Minehead U12s play their final league match of the season, 4 months after their last. Two Hatricks and a convincing performance saw the U12's win 10-1 against Wellington Lions, finishing the Season as Division 1 Runner's up.

Match fitness, warm conditions and long grass were always going to make this a difficult game. Minehead started well, a throw in to Freddie Haden saw him slot the ball bottom left corner of the net putting Minehead in the lead within the first 2 minutes.

5 minutes later a quick one-two between Ollie Searle and Haden saw him score his second. Wellington tried to get themselves back into the match launching a powerful shot long range but this was stopped with a fine save by Freddy Fox.

Moments later Luke Hill touched, turned and took a shot just outside the box but the ball was pushed away by the visiting keeper into the path of Fin Haran who placed the ball into the left corner of the net increasing the score to 3-0 after 12 mins.

Minehead started to take control of the game , continuing to pass in and around the box this paid off when Hill on the edge of the box lobbed the keeper, 4-0.

Zac Milett made a nuisance of himself holding up the Wellington forward but they still managed to get a shot off forcing Fox to make a fine save.

With 1 minutes left on the clock Minehead finished the first half with two more goals. A Fox goal kick fell to Searle, Searle knocked the ball onto Haden who went one on one with the keeper, slotting the ball passed him giving Haden the first hattrick of the match. Moments later Searle on the edge of the box with his left foot curled the ball into the top left of the goal making the halftime score 6-0.

Changes were made at halftime and Minehead started the second half strongly . 4 minutes in Haden back heeled the ball to Hill who placed the ball into the right corner. Pressure by Minehead in the box and a mistake by the Wellington keeper gave Haden the opportunity to walk the ball around him and gave Haden his 4th goal of the game increasing the score to 8-0.

Wellington managed to gain a consolation goal when a goal kick fell straight to there forward who buried it into the corner of the net. A minute later with an assist from Jacob Howells , Hill scored giving him the second hatrick of the game. One minute into added time , Hill increased the lead by scoring his 4th with another fine lob over the keeper. Final score 10-1
