About this deal

I found it to be the kind of book that you can put into the hands of someone who's never heard of Formula 1 or someone who watches every race and both would find something interesting or learn something new. Before WWII, before Formula 1, unquestionably the pinnacle of motorsport was generally European Grand Prix racing. However they will need to find the rest of the series of books because this only covers a portion of F1 history and you really need the others to fill in more gaps. Nobody said F1 was the best motorsport, but it's just a fact that it's the highest you can go in terms of prestige, overall money involved, attraction, importance etc. If you see the discipline with the fastest cars around a track as being the pinnacle, then there were several points in its history where F1 was not the pinnacle, as posted before.

The book will link technical progress with the personalities involved, indeed many of the swiftest changes have come about as a result of accidents or tragedies – the death of Roland Ratzenberger at Imola in 1994, the same weekend as Ayrton Senna, could have been avoided by the HANS safety device. Maybe more of a Pinnacle of "X" thing for each series and checking to see which ticks the most boxes. There are rally drivers who have swopped over to circuit racing and been very competitive and circuit drivers who've done the same in rallying. Technical changes aimed at levelling the playing field for the teams combined with the sport's tightening budget cap will make the races closer than ever. It's involved without being overwhelming with jargon or missed context that would leave a reader confused; each section is approachable even if you jump twenty pages forward. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E. It attracted huge international attention as Formula 1 champions including Nigel Mansell, Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti competed in it. The Table of Contents is structured in admirable specificity and clarity; there is no ambiguity as to what will be where. You can take side steps, but there is nowhere to go above F1 where you'll go faster around a track and earn more money with more people watching.

Along with changes to circuits and the technology of the cars, this book highlights the commercial changes and the controversies that threatened to split the sport apart - such as the threat of breakaway series proposed at various times by teams. The pre-loved books are carefully cleaned and maintained offering a wide variety of general and specialist titles from children's to adults. Watercraft and aircraft should probably be excluded as well, but that hasn't stopped comparisons from happening anyway; Tazio Nuvolari once raced against a Caproni biplane in his Alfa Romeo 8C around a track in 1931.So much of from 1950 to 2000 is very poorly covered the author obviously having no interest or knowledge of that period. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. A really interesting read, and I learnt a lot of new things from it such as the origins of ‘British Racing Green’ and information about technical innovations of the early years, and I also agree that there are some great photographs from the 1950s-70s in the book (particularly one of the 1959 French GP). The WRC, LM24 and F1 might have different levels of prestige with one the most prestigious but they are all pinnacles of their respective motorsports.
